Thank you for being a Backblaze customer. 2024 was full of excitement here as we helped customers with their cloud storage needs around backup & archive, cyber resilience & ransomware protection, AI and application storage, media workflows, and more.
We spent hundreds of thousands of hours building out our platform and products, so I want to share some of those highlights and give you a peek into 2025.
Backblaze Cloud Platform
With customers increasingly needing us for high-performance use cases, we rolled out a host of upgrades and partnerships including Internet2, MANRS, IPv6, high-performance cross-connects with various partners, and much more. The combination of these enables customers to transmit data increasingly quickly and easily, supporting our belief that customers should have their data flow freely and be available to use as they wish.
Backblaze Product Updates
As we've been pulled to support larger companies and more high-performance use cases, we launched:
We spent this past year working on the core platform to make it faster, larger, and more efficient. The result of all that work is a platform that seamlessly supports over 500,000 customers across 175 countries, storing over 3,000,000 gigabytes at one-fifth the price of traditional cloud providers.
A hot AI company recently became a customer, and their founder and CEO said, "Backblaze is an amazing solution for AI training data. We looked at a number of options and Backblaze is seriously the best."
This is what we strive for—to not only offer the best solutions for AI training data, but to be the best cloud storage solution for all of our customers' needs.
Looking Forward to 2025
In the coming year I'm excited about our product and partnership roadmaps that we're actively working on which will provide new opportunities for those using our cloud storage platform. While I can't share too much, we're starting off strong by opening our fourth data region, and look forward to continued innovations to support cyber-resilience, AI, and high-performance use cases.
